If the outdoors is your thing, there’s always a place for you in Yonkers, regardless of your age or fitness level. You can kayak and boat on the Hudson River or walk along our waterfront esplanade, relax at Untermyer Gardens, enjoy dozens of City parks or play at the 161-acre Tibbetts Brook Park, golf at two courses, enjoy miles of biking, hiking and walking trails, and participate in one of the dozens of recreational programs offered by our Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation.

Art & Museums
The day lasts as long as you want it to in Yonkers, thanks to the city’s variety of educational, cultural and entertainment offerings. From the renowned Hudson River Museum and Andrus Planetarium to art and sculptures on the waterfront esplanade to historic Philipse Manor Hall, Yonkers has something to offer everyone.
Music, Theater & Festivals
There are dozens of concert series, festivals and parades throughout the year in Yonkers. During the summer months you can take in jazz at Jazz & Blues at Dusk at the Downtown Waterfront Amphitheater, theatre at Yonkers’ Untermyer Gardens, and rock & roll at Cross County, Empire City and Ridge Hill. Yonkers Riverfest, in the Downtown Waterfront neighborhood, is the city’s largest outdoor festival, and annual parades celebrate Yonkers’ Italian, Irish, and African American heritage.

Film Yonkers
Nearly every week you’ll find production crews in the City and the Downtown Waterfront area has been a primary destination. Television productions including “Boardwalk Empire”, “The Blacklist”, “Law & Order: SVU”, “Hostages”, “The Following” and “Believe”, as well as feature films including “The Other Woman” and “God’s Pocket”, have all recently filmed in the Downtown area.
