About the Code Enforcement Bureau 

The Code Enforcement Bureau's main objective is to educate, monitor and enforce the City Code to insure the health, safety and cleanliness of our City.

The Code Enforcement Bureau responds to inquiries and complaints from the public. Uniformed Code Enforcement Officers patrol the streets of the City and issue warnings and appearance tickets as warranted. The Code Enforcement Bureau interacts on a daily basis with several agencies such as the Mayor’s Action Center, the Mayor’s Office, the City Council, DPW, DHB, Engineering and the YPD. The Code Enforcement Bureau works closely with the Department of Public Works on several projects including the Seasonal Leaf & Sidewalk Repair Programs. The department also responds to and interacts with several community organizations such as the Downtown Waterfront BID and the South Broadway BID.
