Mayor Spano is committed to providing young leaders an opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain exposure to the public sector through the City of Yonkers Internship Program. This program was developed to provide hands-on experience and cultivate such skills.

Internship opportunities are often offered by various departments within the City of Yonkers and coordinated by the Department of Human Resources. Internships are unpaid and for college credit only.

If you are currently in college or graduate school and would like further information regarding our internship opportunities, please submit all application materials such as a cover letter, availability and employment application with your request for an internship with the City of Yonkers at the address below.

Internship Opportunities Are Currently Available

These unpaid internships are available primarily from May through September. Spring and Fall internships are also available.

Graduate students are preferred but qualified undergraduates in related disciplines will be considered. Please indicate which City Department assignment you would prefer. The internships will be between 15 and 25 hours a week and flexible hours are possible.
