Director Kelly Chiarella

Kelly Chiarella currently serves as the Director for the Office for the Aging for the City of Yonkers. She was appointed to this role by Mayor Mike Spano in February 2014.

As director, Chiarella coordinates with different organizations and community groups to communicate the many resources available to Yonkers senior residents. The Yonkers Office for the Aging provides services, programs, information and assistance such as Home Delivered Meals, Home Health Aide services and transportation.

Prior to this role, Chiarella served as an Ombudsperson for the Office of Constituent Services. In that position, she specialized in senior related tasks as well as issues affecting education. Prior to working for the City, Chiarella served as Community Outreach Coordinator for The Volunteer Center of the United Way. There she aligned with all Yonkers’ non-profit community based organizations to provide volunteer opportunities for seniors. Chiarella was also employed by Yonkers Public Schools for 13 years.

In addition to directing the Office for the Aging, Chiarella currently co-chairs the Healthy Yonkers Initiative which meets quarterly to discuss health related topics and share informations amongst health-based organizations. Chiarella also holds volunteer positions as the New York State PTA Resolutions Specialist and as a member of the NYS PTA Urban Initiatives Task Force.
