P.O. Joseph Kostik

Yonkers Police Officer Kostik was appointed to the department on December 31, 1923. On April 17, 1938, Easter Sunday, Ptl Kostik and his partner Ptl Liptak, were sent to break up a dice game. While en route, Ptl Kostik lost control of his radio car and struck a telephone pole. This well-liked officer died instantly. He was 41 years old and left behind his wife and four children.
